📅 Thought for today:
‘Writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can see only as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.’
— E L Doctorow

On a recent Zoominar with Daniel Pink, he introduced some special guests. One was Anne Lamott, author of Bird by Bird, who quoted E L Doctorow, the quote you see here.
Bird by Bird is a book about writing and life, described by the Seattle Times as “A gift to all of us mortals”.
Book projects have started sprouting like weeds on a warm Spring day – I have twelve current book projects, with two more on the side because I am not (yet) able to draw them.
Ten of those books are linked together as two projects – a group of six and a group of four.
A few weeks ago I said, “I am a writer”. Now I’m writing. Since last July I have written 1,000 words every morning – before I got to the books. Now I am aiming for 2,000 words a day – a tall order which will require more discipline than I have today, yet I know I’ll get there.
Today the headlights are on at least!
