📅 Thought for today:

‘Like music and art, love of nature is a common language that can transcend political or social boundaries.’

— Jimmy Carter

The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts opens its doors to the public today.

Whilst most people who haven’t been think it is a music festival in a muddy field, it is so much more than that.

It celebrates what it means to be human, to be kind, to care about the land, and all manner of performing arts.

The last time I attended I saw debates, poets, music, and a lot of very lovely people. I also had the chance to learn, create, relax and of course, eat & drink amazing produce.

In fact, amongst all of these things, sitting and watching the people is one of the most enjoyable aspects.

Everyone makes the festival their own. There is so much choice, so much going on, and something to cater to most tastes.

The last time I attended, I made a very last-minute decision to wander over to the Avalon stage and saw Kiefer Sutherland and his band knock it out of the park. He was engaging, witty, and a good musician. See the photo, he really is having a good time!

Today I set off for Worthy Farm again, full of excitement and anticipation. The weather forecast is reasonable and I have walking boots just in case!
