Thought for today:
‘It takes an earthquake to remind us that we walk on the crust of an unfinished planet.’

It is ten years today since the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
An event so powerful that parts of northern Japan moved 2.4m (8ft) closed to North America.
The resultant Tsunami contributed to the deaths of nearly 16,000 people and the explosion in a nuclear reactor.
As a schoolboy, I completed a research project on Japan.
I wrote to the Japanese embassy in London for help and they showered me with material for my project.
Since that time I have had a deep affection for Japan, spending time doing business there in the 1990s.
And more recently enjoying a fabulous holiday in 2019.
So today my thoughts turn to the people of Iwate, Sendai and Fukushima.
Tsunami is of course a Japanese word which we have adopted.
