📅 Thought for today:

‘Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.’

I sometimes wonder if we over-celebrate “talent” when we should be celebrating the effort that goes into “making it”.

Success is an elusive thing.

Billionaires are “valued” because they are rich, and we ignore their ability to lead a team of people – or not.

If we value fame, money, and possessions more than we value integrity, hard work, and kindness then we will get the society we deserve and by and large, we have.

Self-promotion over compassion doesn’t hack it for me.

I respect hard work and compassion. I have friends who have “made it” after years of focus, hard work and resilience. Along the way, they have treated the people they work with and know very well indeed.

You can do both.

It would be nice to have a society that celebrated this and looked past the trappings of wealth.
