📅 Thought for today:

‘Art wasn’t supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.’

In keeping with my commitment to Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way”, I had an Artist’s Date yesterday. And just for good measure, I shared it with an artist.

You must also learn and observe other artists to be creative and create.

So it was I had a day out in the lovely town of Macclesfield in Cheshire, with a brief interlude in Poynton.

The event was the Art Fair in aid of East Cheshire Hospice. There were roughly 200 artists’ works arrayed across three galleries in the magnificent Macclesfield Town Hall.

When Google maps says it is a short walk from the train station, it neglects to tell you about the 1:4 hill up a cobbled street!

It was a great day out, and of course, I bought some art. In truth, I could easily have bought 20 pieces although getting them home or paying for them would be a challenge.

It was a really uplifting day, and having another person’s view of the art, the venue, the prices and the whole adventure made it much more enjoyable – so thank you, Kat.

The two pieces I bought really did make me feel something – one is nostalgia and the other is joy.
