Clive Weston and I have known each other for more than 30 years.
When we first met, I was a young manager, and he was an almost as young coach and educator.
We have been in business together, as friends, coached and mentored each other through the swings and roundabouts of our lives.
Having decided to step back from his work, Clive donated much of his business library to me. When he dropped off 70+ books yesterday, he admitted a few old friends had been retained.
Getting an additional 70 books just before you move house could be interpreted as a burden, however, I choose to see it as the gift it is, and I am grateful.
As I sat and thumbed through the books last night, I was surprised that there were few duplicates – I have my own business library of about 200 books.
The best gift was the friendship that has endured all these years, so I wanted to express my gratitude for that – and the books.
