In all my leadership training and coaching, I encourage reflective practice.

It is simple yet powerfully effective.

As I now develop my skills as a supervisor, offering a reflective partnership to leaders and managers, so I also reflect on my journey.

I am a Drucker fan-boy, I find his thoughts on management and leadership as relevant today as they were 40 years ago.

I would amend this quotation though by saying that reflection also works where the action was not as effective as you would have liked.

To explore whether your expectation was appropriate as much as exploring the outcome.

And to evaluate the lessons learned.

My next piece of writing today is to finish up my reflective journal as a final essay submission for the Systemic Team Coaching course I have just completed.
