📅 Thought for today:
‘The Law of Attraction states that whatever you focus on, think about, read about, and talk about intensely, you’re going to attract more of into your life.’
— Jack Canfield

Jack Canfield was a co-author of “Chicken Soup for the Soul”, first published in 1993.
It was a collection of “feel good” stories about people’s lives, and brought hope and belief to millions of Americans.
Today I was reading about the TikTok generation’s fascination with manifesting – wanting something and it happens – asking the Universe.
If you are unaware of this “hot trend”, a quick search on TikTok will find a great deal of content.
The concept has been around for a long time – for as long as man has been praying.
It twists and changes through the years.
There is no “Law of Attraction”, yet anecdotes are rife – “it worked for me”.
When you think about it, Canfield is probably right – by really focussing on what you want, by giving it “airtime”, you are denying other things thought space. Your activities will change and things will happen.
I was brought up to believe that asking for what you wanted was wrong – you had to work for it.
I can see the attraction if you believe you don’t have to work for it – you just have to ask for “it”.
Yet there is a cult-like tyranny to the statement “if you don’t get it you didn’t believe hard enough”.
