That inner voice, whispering in your ear that you can’t do it, or you’re not very good, is acting to protect you.
I know that seems hard to believe, it can feel so demoralising and undermining.
Why would my brain tell me this if it wasn’t true?
Because the fear of being exposed is so great.
The joy of trying, the joy of learning, and the very defiant act of doing it is what you need to hang on to.
You have a choice, you can either make yourself happy, or make yourself unhappy.
As I often ask my clients, “If your inner voice was your best friend, would they still be a friend at all?”
Changing the voice that tells you, “you can’t do that” to one that says “you can” will change your life.
