I am deep into reading “In Love with Supervision” by Robin & Joan Shohet.

I start my training with them next month, I am very much looking forward to it.

The book walks through the training, which is in five parts spread out over 9 months (for me – it does depend on when you start).

Using the exercises in the book on my own has been very revealing and interesting.

It has already changed, in small, subtle ways the conversations I have with clients.

Despite being on a mental holiday, I still have a small number of client sessions in the diary.

Especially the therapy sessions, I feel like I have seen another level of my own work, beyond what I was taught, or even that which I have learned through experience.

This is a wonderful feeling, I can only describe it as a revelation about working with clients at depth (to use Mick Cooper’s term).

I am one week into this step-back, I have read, written, learned (CPD), organised, created and rested.

I do feel like I am awakening.
