Thought for today:

‘Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the most wonderful things that will ever happen to us’

On my morning walk today I listened to one of my favourite podcasts.

“The Allusionist” with Helen Zaltzman.

In episode 132 Helen talked to Christa Couture about the impact of loss.

I won’t reveal the details, I do recommend you listen.

I found it a profoundly interesting episode for a variety of reasons.

One was the human ability to develop resilience.

And another was the human ability to unintentionally insult, offend or hurt with our words.

We often don’t know what to say.

And when we get uncomfortable, we say things that support us, not the person we are talking to.

There are some excellent examples in this show.

Yet Christa demonstrated that wonderful things can happen.

Like coin tosses one is no related to the next – you don’t get a tail because you’ve had a string of heads.

Sometimes wonderful things happen, whether you expect them to or not.
