A short post on a busy Saturday as the Sue Gray report on parties at No. 10 Downing Street is delayed and a spat opens up between the Civil Service and the Metropolitan Police, who change their story from one day to the next, I am reminded of this George Orwell quotation, and how the narrative and history of what has happened here in recent years is controlled by those with an incentive to change it to suit their needs.
