📅 Thought for today:

‘Friendship needs no words – it is solitude delivered from the anguish of loneliness.’

The local schools have closed for the Christmas holiday.

There are signs of work shutting down for some people. Not for me, I have clients every day this week.

For some this is a time for family, maybe reflecting on those who are no longer with us. For others, they will spend their holiday break with friends.

And some, through no choice of their own, will be alone.

Not the ones who choose to spend their time in solitude, they are ones that enjoy some peace and quiet without the hustle and bustle of other people around them.

I am talking about the ones that are disconnected from family and friends, who find themselves through circumstance, hard times or the judgement of others, spending their time alone without family or friends.

Some of these people are hidden in plain sight. Right in front of us. For them, Christmas is a time of dread, fear, and of despair.

If you would like to give a gift this Christmas then check on those around you and be sure you understand that if they are alone over the holiday it is their choice. The gift of companionship is the best gift you can give to some people.
