Six short years ago I started allocating time to learning.
I have trained as a coach, team coach, hypnotherapist, psychotherapist, mindfulness teacher, and supervisor.
I have also tried pottery, learned to bake good bread and cakes, made yoghurt and ice cream and a vast array of meals from the internet. I am re-learning drawing and illustration.
My focus though is on the professional changing because my own personal strapline is, “The work I do changes people’s lives.”
The professional training came with a warning – you will change and not everyone will like it.
Byron Katie said, ‘It’s not your job to like me – it’s mine.’
So when I am comfortable with who I am, then I will discover who my friends are.
Because they will like the person I like, and I won’t have to be someone I don’t believe in to be liked by people I don’t really like myself.
After a short hiatus, I go back to my teacher training – I have two written submissions to complete.
So I might get the chance to change someone else’s life in yet another way.
