📅 Thought for today:
‘If you do not breathe through writing, if you do not cry out in writing, or sing in writing, then don’t write, because our culture has no use for it.’
— Anaïs Nin

One thing I’ve discovered during this step-back from work in August is the deeply held desire to be creative in lots of ways.
If you’ve read my words before you’ll know I write – not just the books I’m working on or these daily posts.
I also journal, write articles and keep notes.
Now with the new time and space I’ve created I’ve had a fabulous weekend trying pottery, and I am not finished on that.
I have also been dipping my toe back in drawing and illustration – something I once did every week.
I gave myself a booklist to read this month as well. Stephen King says that if you want to write you must read.
So I have a smörgÃ¥sbord of books – some work-related, some exploring and some novels.
I have come to the place in the list which contains Julia Cameron’s book “The Artist’s Way”.
I probably should have put that at the top of the list!
Meanwhile, here’s a picture of my pottery efforts. One day making seven pots, two of which I consigned to the scrap bucket and then half a day of fettling. They’ll be glazed and fired in the coming weeks and I’ll show you the end result when they’re done.
