📅 Thought for today:
‘Transparency, honesty, kindness, good stewardship, even humor, work in businesses at all times.’

This has been a week of interesting reflections and new development, and in all this a few words are emerging.
When I notice these patterns, I get curious.
The words that have emerged this week are integrity and humour (humor) and the context has been leadership and management.
It has made me think about how many truly effective leaders there are?
I see and hear examples of ineffective and in some cases downright bad management (leadership), yet I know there are good leaders out there who make a difference to the people that work for them.
In fact for some of the examples I know, their people will follow them wherever they go, that is how much they enjoy working with them.
I think two key factors are the leader’s honesty with themselves and their authenticity in action and communication.
I also think that humour is important – in the right place, in the right way, at the right time.
And I’m sitting here wondering two things.
Are these things we can teach?
And isn’t this quote true outside the business context?
