Thought for today:
‘Outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost the self-esteem of their personnel. If people believe in themselves, it’s amazing what they can accomplish.’

I think to a US reader the name Sam Walton is very familiar.
Possibly less so to a non-US reader.
He was the founder of what became the biggest corporation by revenue and the biggest private employer – Wal-Mart.
In a week when I have heard several tales of how managers who think they are leaders have undermined, belittled, or demeaned people who work for them, this quote comes to mind.
Those managers are not my clients – their people are.
And as I often do in situations that seem hopeless, I look for something good.
In this case, my clients have had a lesson in how not to lead – and are determined to be different.
Good on them, I will help them in any way I can, or at least that I am equipped to do.
And if you manage people, don’t forget to thank them.
