Thought for today:

‘Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.’

What is a fact?

I know this seems an odd question to ask.

But… what is a fact?

How do you know a fact is, in fact, a fact.

Perhaps overwhelming evidence?

This thought was prompted by political machinations in both the UK and the USA.

When I sat and thought about it, Psychology is an interesting case in point.

It is very hard to prove much that is “fact” in Psychology.

Much of the knowledge is conjecture, theory, proposals support by some observed evidence.

And the world of Psychology is tying itself in knots because earlier evidence is proving difficult to reproduce.

Potentially undermining the “facts” we believe – or choose to believe.

I’m in a cogitative mood today!
