Thought for today:

‘When an old man dies, a library burns to the ground.’

— African Proverb

Yesterday (as you may recall) I was on a training session on attitudes to death and dying.

Esther Perel hosted a panel of experts for 1,300 psychotherapists, coaches, and counselors.

It is part of a series of events around taboo subjects.

And all this with the backdrop of the announcement of the 46th President of the United States of America.

Lost amongst the noise, was the announcement of the death of Rabbi Lord Sacks.

He was most likely the first person to stretch my spiritual thinking.

There was a time when I listened to Thought for the Day on BBC Radio 4 every day.

And when Jonathan Sacks was on I paid special attention, as I did to his Credo column in The Times (of London).

Of course, the radio program Thought for the Day was an inspiration for these daily posts.

And Rabbi Sacks was an inspiration for me to learn and expand my thinking.
