`📅 Thought for today:

‘If there is time to reflect, slowing down is likely to be a good idea.’

— Daniel Kahneman

The name Daniel Kahneman may not immediately ring a bell for you.

You probably know his work – directly or indirectly, he has had a great deal of influence on the psychology of decision making, biases, and judgement.

You might know his book, “Thinking fast and slow”, or his more recent work “Noise”, co-authored with Olivier Sibony. The former is considered a brilliant piece of work and the latter… well the reviews on Amazon speak for themselves.

I’m thinking about this today because I am back in London for three days (today is the second) on the next level of my Supervision training – looking at the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision.

One key aspect of the work is to slow down, reflect and explore.

I was reading “Noise” on the train, but I’ve abandoned it in favour of “Awakening The Heart” edited by John Welwood. It is about East and West approaches to psychotherapy and the healing relationship. It is a book recommended for this training, so we’ll see how much I can read in two 1-hour train journeys!
