📅 Thought for today:
‘You cannot write a book unless it is totally inhabiting your imagination and you are totally engrossed with it. Which is a kind word for obsession.’

I have been away for the weekend at LICAF – the Lakes International Comic Art Festival.
Held in the lovely Lake District town of Kendal, it was a fascinating event, and I really enjoyed it.
In the course of watching live drawing events, fireside chats, interviews and even a “Desert Island Comics”, I had an idea for a book, a graphically told story.
It just arrived in my head on Saturday, I made some quick notes in case it left in a hurry, and now I find it hard to stop thinking about it. I’ve started some sketches.
I am on the receiving end of some training today, two hours of Zoomy fun and games, yet my thoughts are dominated by this book idea. It grows and mushrooms and tendrils of possibilities sprout from it.
As I write about the creative spark, the story whispers to me, exhorting me to stop everything I’m doing.
Even to stop writing the book I am nearly halfway through.
I’m not going to let that happen.
However, this new idea is a good one, it needs to see the light of day.
I will wait impatiently for all the other duties of the day to be completed before I can turn back to my new obsession.
