Whilst I am posing these questions in a personal context, I am thinking about work.
It surprises me how many managers find it difficult to thank their people for doing their job.
Attitudes range from “I shouldn’t need to” to “I pay them to work”.
In our personal lives, some people find it hard to think about the receiver and pay compliments sincerely.
Sincere recognition, acknowledgement and gratitude are valuable tools in building relationships yet can become weapons in the wrong hands.
So here’s a thought for today – pay a sincere, genuine compliment to someone who isn’t expecting it and see what happens.
