I have had some periods of adversity and I certainly learned who my friends were.
Adversity can be a harsh spotlight on our relationships.
Yesterday I learned of the death of a man who supported me in adversity a few years ago.
He was not really a friend, we didn’t know each other that well.
But when the chips were down for me, he was supportive, and I valued his wise counsel.
May he rest in peace.
