📅 Thought for today:
‘Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.’
— H Jackson Brown, Jr

This is a very popular quote, almost always described as by Mark Twain.
Except it isn’t.
H Jackson Brown included it in a book called P.S. I Love You. He credited it to his mother.
It has never really struck me as a credible Twain quote, not in his style.
I’m happy to use it and credit it appropriately (the book was published in 1990, it is much more 1990 language than in 1890).
I decided over the weekend I want more days out to art galleries, so I’ve compiled a list (from extensive research – a Google search) of the top ten galleries each in England, Scotland, and Wales. I’ll add Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland next. If I manage to visit all of those in the next 20 years, and I’m still alive to tell the tale, I’ll add some continental ones.
I’m open to recommendations and suggestions!
So there you go.
Bowlines are thrown off, sailing away…
