📅 Thought for today:
‘Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.’

Have you ever worked with or for someone who resorted to shouting when they got frustrated, irritated or thwarted at work?
Have you ever been that person?
This description of workplace behaviour is more common than you might think – or then again – you might (rightly) think it happens a lot.
Mental health in the workplace is strongly influenced by the behaviours of the people towards each other, their training for their job, and their own self-awareness and self-regulation.
Very little of this is taught – employees are expected to “learn on the job”.
You don’t hear that at airlines with their pilots, and you shouldn’t hear it at any other workplace.
Management is a job.
Stop promoting people as a “reward” – advance their career instead. Promotion and advancement are two different things.
Stop putting people in management positions without training them and coaching them for what is a completely different job.
Sales manager is not a sales job, it is a management job.
Yoga and mindfulness help an individual but they won’t change the behaviours of the managers unless you train them properly.
