Thought for today:
‘The sediments of the past are many miles in collective thickness: yet the feeble silt of the rivers built them all from base to summit.’

Yesterday I read a story about a model who posed topless for glamour mags in her teens, more than a decade ago.
The pictures have been appropriated to the extent that there are thousands of fake profiles using them, mostly porn sites.
I ask this as I receive another serious business offer based on my profile from ten years ago.
No doubt I am in someone’s database with a profile – based on what I was doing all that time ago.
I have had a presence online since 1995 – twenty-six years.
I registered my first domain in 1996.
I joined eBay in 1999; LinkedIn in 2005; Facebook in 2007.
The digital sediment set down over the years has one big drawback – it is still in the public eye.
Unlike river sediment, it is hidden with each layer laid down.
I might be unusual in that most of my email addresses have been around for a very long time.
I retired one because it had been used mostly for spam.
Every day someone reminds me of who I was, what I was doing, at some point in the past.
I am not sure how I feel about this.
