Thought for today:
‘Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with shades of deeper meaning.’

There was a time, in what feels like a decade ago, when I travelled in to London for work two or three times a week.
I haven’t made that journey since March 6th 2020.
One of the things I used to enjoy was sitting in a busy place and watching the people.
Especially if they were having a conversation.
Without being able to hear the words, getting a sense of the conversation from their body language.
The hand gestures, the posture, the facial expression.
Albert Mehrabian said that in communicating feelings and attitudes, body language (facial expression) accounts for 55% of the communication.
And that words, the ones that are spoken, account for only 7% of the “liking”.
It is why email is so poor at conveying emotions and attitudes.
It is why I look forward to my break and meeting people again soon.
And sitting in busy places watching people again.
