Thought for today:

‘Things are not always what they seem; the first appearance deceives many; the intelligence of a few perceives what has been carefully hidden.’

— Gaius Julius Phaedrus

I have that feeling.

I am worried about paranoia or unwarranted suspicion.

Something happened this week which has made my antennae twitch.

Is there more to this than meets the eye?

Is there a hidden meaning?

How do I find out?

This is a simplification and an amalgam of several client conversations.

Where is the balance between protective enquiry and unhealthy suspicion or obsession?

There is a feeling that accepting, trusting and assuming leaves us vulnerable to exploitation.

Where do you think the line should be drawn?

Personally, I try to trust everyone until they prove me wrong.
